🎓 What is an Original Degree Certificate (OD)?
The Original Degree Certificate (OD) is the official degree document issued by your university after you successfully complete your course. It is different from your marks memos (marksheets). The OD is the single most important document you need for:

📝 General OD Application Process — Works for All Universities
Go to your university's official website. Look for Examination → Certificates → Original Degree Certificate / OD Application. Download the prescribed form.
Fill Hall Ticket number, enrollment number, course name, branch, year of passing. Write your full address clearly for speed post delivery. Any mistake delays the process by weeks.
Keep all semester marksheets, consolidated memo, Provisional Certificate, Aadhaar copy, photos, No Dues from college. Arrange in the order specified in the form.
Pay via Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of "The Registrar, [University Name]" at the specified bank. OR pay online if the university portal supports it. Keep the DD/payment receipt safely.
Submit the complete application to the university Exam Branch — in person OR by Registered Post / Speed Post. Keep the post tracking number for follow-up.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions — OD Certificate AP & Telangana
Can I apply for OD online without visiting the university?
Most AP and Telangana universities now accept OD applications by registered post or speed post. You do not need to visit the university to apply. However, collection of the OD may require in-person visit in some universities unless you request speed post delivery in your application form.
I lost my provisional certificate. Can I still apply for OD?
Yes. If you lost your Provisional Certificate, you can apply for a duplicate PC first, or mention it in your OD application and provide an affidavit/sworn statement. Contact your university exam branch directly for the exact process as it varies by university.
How long does it take to get OD from JNTUK/JNTUH?
Typically 30–60 working days from the date of application submission. During convocation season (October–December) and peak application periods, it can take up to 90 days. Apply early — do not wait until you urgently need it.
Can someone else collect my OD on my behalf?
Yes, most universities allow a representative to collect the OD on your behalf. They must carry: (1) A signed authorisation letter from you, (2) A copy of your Aadhaar, (3) Their own Aadhaar for identity verification. Check your specific university's rules before sending someone.
What is the difference between OD and Provisional Certificate?
Provisional Certificate (PC) is issued temporarily right after your results to confirm you passed. I passed in 2020 but never applied for OD. Can I still apply now?
