How do you renew TS ePASS? Open the renewal pre-registration form at tgepass.cgg.gov.in/homeServicePMSSPreRegistrationsRenewal, select your SSC Pass Type, enter your SSC Pass Year, SSC Exam No and previous Application Number, then press "Get Details". The portal checks your Aadhaar name against SSC data and shows "Aadhar Name is Matched With SSC Data..!Are you sure want to submit ?" before accepting it. Finish inside the 10 minute session, then complete biometric authentication at a MeeSeva centre with your Application Id. There is no date of birth field.
Renewal or fresh application: which one applies to you
Renewal is built around your old application number
Renewal asks for your previous Application Number as a mandatory field. Leave it blank and the portal answers "Please Enter Application Number." So renewal is for a student already registered in an earlier year. You do not generate a second application number. Never registered before? You are a fresh applicant, and that form is a different URL.
Use the right ePASS domain, or you will think renewal has closed
There are two addresses. telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in is the information and legacy portal, the one whose footer credits CGG and the Social Welfare Department. It currently returns an HTTP 403 error to many clients, which is exactly why students conclude renewal has stopped. tgepass.cgg.gov.in is where the working student service forms now live, and a newer build exists at telanganaepassng.cgg.gov.in.

The four details you need before you start renewal

All four carry a mandatory asterisk, and the button says "Get Details". Miss one and the portal names it: "Please Select SSC Pass Type.", "Please Enter SSC Pass Year.", "Please Enter SSC Exam Number." or "Please Enter Application Number."
The renewal pass type list differs from the fresh one
Almost nobody documents this, and it decides whether some students can renew at all. The renewal dropdown adds OPEN University and AP OPEN Schools, which the fresh one lacks, and leaves out Direct Degree and OSS, which it has. Direct Degree and OSS candidates should call 040-23120311 rather than forcing a wrong pass type.
What the portal shows when your details match
Once the four details check out, the portal compares your Aadhaar name against your SSC record and asks, in exactly these words: "Aadhar Name is Matched With SSC Data..!Are you sure want to submit ?" That is good news, because a name mismatch is a quiet reason applications fail later. If it does not appear, fix the record instead of retrying.
Step-by-step TS ePASS renewal on the portal
You get ten minutes, so do not start unprepared
The service pages expire the session after 600 seconds, which is ten minutes, with a fifteen second countdown first. That is plenty with your documents on the table and nowhere near enough if you are still hunting for your SSC exam number. If it times out, open the form fresh rather than reusing a stale tab.
The 14 digit OTR number
One Time Registration ties a student to one identity across years. The page is titled "Post-Matric Scholarship OTR Number Entry" and asks for Scheme Type, Academic Year, Application Id, SSC Pass Type, Pass Year and Exam no. Two length rules end most of the confusion: the OTR number is 14 digits ("Please enter 14 Digits OTR ID") and Aadhaar is 12 digits ("Please enter 12 Digits UID").
Renewal eligibility conditions
ePASS serves SC, ST, BC, EBC, Minority and Disabled students. Renewal adds one condition, built into the form: you must already hold an application number from an earlier year.
Your certificates must be current and must match
Two checks decide most renewals: the Aadhaar to SSC name match, and your certificates. Your caste certificate must support the category you claim; see our caste certificate apply guide. Income is the one students underestimate, because a certificate valid when you first applied may have lapsed by renewal time. Refresh it first through our income certificate online process.
On the income limit, we will not print a number
The ceiling is fixed by the welfare department and the figure on your certificate has to fall inside it. We are deliberately not publishing a rupee figure, because the limit is revised by government order and is quoted inconsistently online. Confirm it with your college scholarship section or district welfare office.
What the department publishes, and what we could not verify
The portal's own pages are the authority on finer conditions: "Who are Eligible?", "Courses", "Colleges Eligible", "Fee Structure", "Time Line" and "Reasons for Rejection". We could not verify any official renewal rule on attendance, detention, or changing course or college mid-way. Plenty of sites state those confidently; we will not. If your case involves one, ask your district welfare office first.

Resize the bank proof into that 30 to 100 KB band before you sit at the form. It is a two minute job beforehand and a frustrating one mid-session.
Biometric Aadhaar authentication at MeeSeva
The portal notice leaves no room for interpretation: "For Bio-Metric Aadhar Authentication Please visit your nearest Mee Seva Centre Along With Your Application Id." You cannot do it from home.
Do it before you call your renewal done
On the fresh side the portal says, in its own words, "Students can enter their details, who have completed bio-metric Authentication can proceed to complete their registration." The biometric gates completion rather than following it. Carry your Application Id and Aadhaar, and keep the acknowledgement: it is your only proof. Bank account and DBT points that affect renewal students
ePASS makes a direct benefit transfer into the beneficiary's bank account, as stated on the Centre for Good Governance project page, and students must open an account in a nationalized bank. That makes the account you carry forward the most consequential detail in a renewal.
Which accounts the portal accepts
A nationalized bank account is the baseline, and the portal notice adds: "India Postal payment bank account number is accepted along with Nationalized bank in scholarships application." For SC applications it also publishes an "NPCI Request for Aadhaar Seeding of SC Application" notice. NPCI seeding is not the same as giving your bank an Aadhaar number.
One account cannot be shared by two students in a year
This catches families every cycle. The portal checks the account number against existing registrations and blocks duplicates within the same academic year. If you and a sibling share one account, one renewal will be stopped. Open a separate account in each student's own name before renewing, not after a rejection.
Changing your bank details at renewal
Use the Student Bank Details Change form. It asks for Academic Year, Application Id, SSC Pass Type, SSC Hall Ticket No and SSC Pass Year, with "Get Data" and "Reset" buttons. The IFSC dropdown is built from the bank you select, so choose the bank first, and the upload takes JPG or JPEG only, 30 KB to 100 KB.
RTF and MTF, and why no rupee figure appears here
ePASS pays RTF, tuition fee as per the government-notified fee structure, and MTF, a monthly maintenance allowance. MTF is not one number: it moves with welfare category (SC and ST rates differ), course group (I to IV) and hostel status, and is revised by government order. Last date for TS ePASS renewal 2026-27
Here is the honest answer. There is no verifiable official last date for post-matric 2026-27 renewal. The department has not published one that can be confirmed, so any site printing one is guessing. We will not add a guess, not even an expected month.
The only verified post-matric date is a past one
The portal notice for an earlier cycle reads: "Post-Matric Fresh and Renewal Registrations for 2024-25 are open, and the last date for registrations is 30-06-2025." That is the 2024-25 date, not a 2026-27 date. It is useful for one reason: it shows the department keeping a window open for roughly a year past the start of the academic year, fresh and renewal together.

What to do instead of waiting for a date
The 2026-27 academic year is already live on the portal. So renew as soon as you rejoin college and your income certificate is current, and check the portal notice board yourself. A renewal filed early survives a correction, a re-upload and a second MeeSeva visit. One filed on a rumoured last date does not.
Common renewal mistakes that get applications rejected
The portal publishes its own "Reasons for Rejection" page. Every item below is a rule it enforces, and every one is avoidable before you renew.
Two traps specific to renewal
First, forcing a wrong SSC Pass Type because your original one is missing from the renewal dropdown; another value breaks the SSC match. Second, treating the form as a sign-in page and giving up when it asks for an Application Number instead of a password. There is no password.

Make the call count
The window is narrow, so prepare before you dial. Have your Application Number, SSC Exam No, Pass Year and Pass Type written down, with the exact wording of the message the portal showed you. Quoting it gets a faster answer than describing the screen. And nobody needs to be paid to get a renewal sanctioned.
