Job Description

People Tech is hiring an experienced Linux Device Driver Engineer to work on
low-level system software and embedded Linux platforms. The ideal candidate will have
strong expertise in C/C++ programming, Linux kernel modules, and device driver development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Port Linux device drivers to new platforms, SoCs, and kernel versions.
  • Develop new drivers for custom hardware and peripherals.
  • Debug kernel and driver-level issues using standard tools.
  • Perform hardware bring-up and Linux integration.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to enable device functionality.
  • Optimize drivers for performance and reliability.
  • Create technical documentation for driver design and APIs.

Required Skills

  • Strong C/C++ programming and memory management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux device drivers (I2C, SPI, USB, PCIe, etc.).
  • Linux kernel architecture, module programming, and build systems.
  • Knowledge of interrupts, DMA, and device tree.
  • Experience with embedded Linux toolchains and cross-compilation.
  • Debugging tools: GDB, ftrace, perf, printk.
  • Version control systems (Git).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or similar frameworks.
  • Exposure to real-time Linux and RT patches.
  • Scripting knowledge (Python / Bash).

Eligibility Criteria

EducationBachelor’s / Master’s in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
