NTA has opened NEET UG 2026 applications from February 8, 2026. A major update this year is Aadhaar-based eKYC and live photo capture during the registration process.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened online registration for NEET UG 2026 from February 8, 2026.
Students applying for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc & AH, BHMS and B.Sc Nursing (MNS) should complete the form early because the portal typically sees heavy traffic closer to the deadline.

What’s New in NEET UG 2026 Registration?
Along with the regular application details, candidates now need to complete eKYC verification (Aadhaar-based) and submit a live captured photograph.
This is meant to tighten identity checks and reduce errors during exam-day verification.
How to Do Live Photo Capture (Simple Steps)
- Login and go to the Photo / Live Photo section in the NEET UG application form.
- Select your method: Web Camera or Mobile (QR Code).
- Webcam: Allow camera permission → sit facing the camera → capture when your face is centered.
- Mobile QR: Scan QR on your screen → open capture link on mobile → take live photo → submit.
- Preview carefully and confirm only if the photo looks clear and matches the rules.
Live Photo Rules
- Face should cover at least 80% of the frame
- No caps/hat, goggles, sunglasses, or tinted glasses
- Use good lighting; avoid shadows
- Plain background is recommended
Why It’s Important
NTA may verify your live photo during the exam. If the image is unclear or doesn’t match, it may create issues at the test centre.
