Job Description – News Analyst

Cognizant is hiring freshers as News Analysts, a role at the intersection of
digital media, real-time news, and data quality. As part of this team, you will help train and
improve algorithms by analysing live news content, validating facts, and ensuring that information consumed by
clients is accurate, timely, and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse real-time data feeds from multiple news and content sources.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct errors in news alerts, headlines, and captions.
  • Cross-verify information using trusted social media and digital sources for accuracy and completeness.
  • Write, edit, and refine short-form captions for social media posts and news items.
  • Apply business rules and logic to validate and classify data programmatically.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) checks on algorithmic outputs to improve dataset quality.
  • Stay updated on new policies, guidelines, and process changes impacting QA workflows.
  • Adapt quickly to a fast-paced, rapidly changing news and content ecosystem.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Political or Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates from 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025 batches (3 or 4-year full-time degree).
  • Strong interest in news, current affairs, social media, and digital content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2 level or higher).
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
