📋 CSAB అంటే ఏమిటి? — Central Seat Allocation Board
CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) అనేది JoSAA counselling అన్ని rounds complete అయిన తర్వాత NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, మరియు GFTIs లో మిగిలిన vacant seats fill చేయడానికి నిర్వహించబడే body. - Last remaining seats after all Special Rounds
- Freeze or Withdraw ONLY — no Surrender option
- Fresh registration mandatory again (even if Special Round registered)
- Last opportunity to get NIT/IIIT seat
- Even higher rank students can get seat (very few seats left)

- JEE Main 2025 appeared candidates
- Did NOT register for JoSAA at all
- Registered for JoSAA but got no seat allotment
- Got JoSAA seat but chose CSAB during reporting
- Withdrew from JoSAA seat voluntarily
- Has private college seat (doesn’t affect eligibility)
- Indian Nationals living abroad (via CSAB)
❌ CANNOT Apply for CSAB
- Got JoSAA seat + paid admission fee + completed all formalities = ineligible
- Previous JoSAA/CSAB registration NOT valid — fresh always needed
- Did not appear for JEE Main 2025
📝 CSAB Application Process — Step by Step

Register on csab.nic.in: Fresh registration mandatory. JEE Main 2025 roll number, date of birth, valid email + mobile. Even if previously registered on JoSAA — register again fresh.

Choice Filling: Fill college + branch preferences in priority order. Can fill multiple NITs, IIITs, GFTIs. Lock choices before deadline.

Seat Allotment Result: Check result on csab.nic.in. Seat allotted based on rank, category, and choice order.

Choose Option — Freeze / Surrender / Withdraw: See section below for what each means.

Document Verification + Fee Payment: If Freeze → report to allotted institute with original documents. Pay admission fee to confirm seat. ✅ Done!
🔄 Freeze vs Surrender vs Withdraw — Explained Simply
✅ FREEZE
Allotted seat accept చేసి confirm చేస్తున్నారు. No further rounds participate చేయరు. Document verification + fee payment → admission confirmed. Best option if satisfied with allotted seat.
🔄 SURRENDER
Current allotted seat cancel చేసి next round లో better seat try చేస్తున్నారు. Current seat వదిలిపోతుంది — next round లో allotment guarantee లేదు. Available only in Special Rounds — NOT in Spot Round.
❌ WITHDRAW
CSAB process నుండి completely exit అవుతున్నారు. Seat cancel + no further CSAB rounds. Refund of seat acceptance fee (if paid) after deductions. Use only if sure you don’t want NIT/IIIT/GFTI.
💡 Strategy: Good seat allotted → Freeze immediately. Better seat possible → Surrender and try next round (risky). Don’t want NIT/IIIT at all → Withdraw. Never surrender in Spot Round — it’s the last round!
🌍 DASA — Direct Admission of Students Abroad (NRI/OCI/PIO)
DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) is a Ministry of Education scheme that allows Foreign Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs to get direct admission to NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other CFTIs — without competing through the regular JoSAA process. IITs are excluded from DASA. In 2025, CSAB and DASA processes are merged and managed via csab.nic.in.

- OCI (Overseas Citizen of India)
- PIO (Person of Indian Origin)
- Studied class 11+12 abroad (last 8 yrs)
- Minimum 60% PCM in qualifying exam
- JEE Main score mandatory (since 2021)
💰 DASA Fee Structure
- 💵 Tuition: USD 4,000/semester (~₹3.3L)
- 🌴 CIWG category: ₹1,25,000/semester
- 📝 Registration fee: USD 300 (~₹25,000)
- 🏠 Living expenses: Extra (as per city)
CIWG = Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar etc.) — major fee concession!

Institutes covered under DASA: 31 NITs (including NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal) + IIITs + IIEST Shibpur + Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs) + other CFTIs. IITs NOT included — they have a separate process.

Gulf లో ఉన్న Indian parents పిల్లలకి DASA లో concession ఉంటుందా? ＋
Yes — CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries) category కి significant fee concession. Regular DASA fee USD 4,000/semester vs CIWG fee: ₹1,25,000/semester (~USD 1,500). Gulf countries include UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman. CIWG seats = 5% within the DASA supernumerary quota (roughly 1/3rd of total DASA seats). Documents: Parent’s work permit / residence proof in Gulf country required.
